Luxury Car Driver Shot in Mexico City Incident

A driver of a luxury Land Rover was shot by two individuals on a motorcycle on Centenario Avenue in the Gustavo A. Madero borough of Mexico City. The attack occurred near the Carrera Metro station and in the direction of Martín Carrera Avenue. The driver of the SUV, with license plates from the state of Tamaulipas, was targeted in what appears to be a premeditated act.

The individuals on the motorcycle chased their victim and shot at him from close range without any words exchanged, according to the authorities from the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC). After committing the crime, the attackers fled towards the municipality of Ecatepec.

Amid the vehicular chaos following the attack, the Land Rover driver lost control and collided with a cargo vehicle traveling on the same avenue. The man, whose identity has not yet been revealed, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities estimate he was between 35 and 50 years old.

Agents from the Mexico City Prosecutor's Office are investigating the murder and are working to identify the individuals responsible for the crime. Images shared on social media by reporter Jorge Becerril show the two individuals fleeing on the motorcycle, although their faces have not been identified because they were wearing helmets.
